Dr James Tooley
The Bristol N.E.S.T. Team aim to provide safe, prompt and effective stabilisation & transfer of neontates within the Western Neonatal Network- 24 hours a day 365 days a year
We are a team of Neonatal Consultants, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Fellows and Transport Nurses. Our base is at University Hospitals Bristol NHS foundation trust.
We provide clinical advice and transport services for Neonatal Units and Special Care Baby Units within the Northern part of the SouthWest Neonatal Network.
We work closely with the two Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Units based in Bristol to ensure that infants requiring specialist care can be safely and promptly transferred to the appropriate hospital.
We also provide transport services to return infants to their local unit once their condition has imporved.
We also work with our colleagues in the Peninsula Neonatal Transport Team (PNTS) and Wales and West Acute Transport for Children (WATCh) Team to provide care in times of peak demand across the whole SouthWest Neonatal Network.
Patrick is the Lead Nurse for the NEST Team. He has previously worked in Children's Intensive Care (PICU) and with the Embrace Transport Team.
Lead Consultant for the NEST Team. Previously clinical lead for St Michael's NICU.
Dr Tooley also works with WATCH (Children's Intensive Care retrieval Service) & Bristol Helicopter Emergency Medical Service
Chris is the lead Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for the NEST team. He also works with the St Michael's NICU Team. He has also worked in PICU.
